Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) / Registered Nurse (RN)
CHNS Training and Staffing Services is currently seeking experienced
Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN) and Registered Nurses (RN).
CHNS provides staffing services to multiple healthcare institutions.
Qualifications
- Current and valid Licensed Practical Nurse or Registered Nurse license in good standing with the State of Maryland (required).
- CPR, AED, and First Aid certification (required).
- Experience with Point Click Care (preferred).
Job Responsibilities
- Evaluate residents’ physical, spiritual, psychological, emotional, educational, and environmental needs with clinical competence.
- Order, administer, and document medications and treatments per physician orders and nursing policies.
- Observe, report, and communicate changes in resident conditions with physicians and supervisors.
- Transcribe/verify physician orders; coordinate tests, treatments, and procedures.
- Complete admission assessments and required documentation per regulatory guidelines.
- Accurately document health status, interventions, and responses to care plans.
- Measure and record vital signs (height, weight, temperature, BP, glucose, pulse, respiration).
- Collect and document lab specimens; follow up on results.
- Develop, implement, and communicate care goals, including admission and discharge plans.
- Provide resident and family education on healthcare needs.
- Respond promptly and professionally to emergencies.
- Delegate, monitor, and follow up on GNA assignments; promote staff accountability and autonomy.
- Train and supervise staff on restraints, treatments, positioning devices, and safety protocols.
- Prepare residents for exams, procedures, and treatments.
- Monitor medication, supply, and equipment inventory; assemble and utilize nursing equipment (catheters, IV pumps, tracheotomy tubes, oxygen).
- Orient, supervise, and evaluate nursing assistants.
- Assist with transfers and mobility using proper lifting techniques; operate equipment over 50 lbs with assistance.
- Perform nursing assistant duties, including answering call bells as needed.
- Attend required in-service and educational programs.
- Stand/walk 6+ hours daily; sit at a keyboard 4+ hours daily.
- Work flexible schedules including overtime, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Communicate effectively in English (read, write, speak, understand).
- Assist in resident evacuation during emergencies.
- Meet health and physical requirements per company policy.
- Perform other duties as assigned by nursing leadership or administration.
