We are looking for dedicated caregivers to provide compassionate care and support to clients in Harford and Cecil County.
Summary
Perform a variety of nonprofessional nursing duties under the supervision of an RN/LPN to support patient care in home or facility settings.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepare patients, equipment, and supplies for procedures and provide manual assistance as required.
- Obtain and record patient data for medical records, informing RN/LPN of relevant information.
- Provide personal care, including feeding, bathing, shaving, dressing, bed-making, ambulation assistance, skin care, enemas, and bowel/bladder care.
- Assist with scheduling, transportation, errands, meal planning and preparation, grocery shopping, medication reminders, light housekeeping, laundry, plant care, and pet care.
- Assist RN/LPN with physical examinations, positioning patients, changing non-sterile dressings, and weighing patients.
- Report changes in patient condition to RN/LPN promptly.
- Take and record vital signs, apply ice bags, administer douches and enemas as trained.
- Turn, position, and feed patients; provide fresh drinking water.
- Perform finger sticks for blood glucose testing with proper training.
- Assist with patient admission, discharge, and transportation.
- Follow standard precautions and use personal protective equipment as required.
- Collect, deliver, and conduct routine tests on patient specimens.
- Clean assigned areas and maintain stock of supplies and equipment.
- Participate in professional development and skills validation; support development of other staff and learners.
- Perform other duties related to patient care as assigned.
Education & Certification
- Uncertified caregivers welcome.
- CNA, HHA, or PCA preferred.
- CPR and First Aid Certification required.
- Photo ID, current physical, Social Security card, PPD, and background check required.
Experience
- Minimum 1-year experience preferred for CNAs.
- Minimum 2 years experience preferred for Home Health Aides or uncertified caregivers.
